Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups chicken gizzards
- 4 cups filtered water for boiling gizzards
- 1 ¼ cups filtered water for sauce
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp dried herbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- fresh herbs of your choice dill, parsley, arugula
- salt and ground black pepper
Instructions
- Wash the chicken gizzards, remove the membranes, and boil them in 1 liter of salted water for 25-30 minutes.
- Cut the cooked gizzards.
- Peel the onion and cut it into quarter rings.
- Peel the carrots and grate them using the coarse side of a grater.
- Place the chopped onion in a hot pan with vegetable oil. Fry over low heat until lightly browned.
- Add the grated carrots to the pan along with the onions. Continue cooking for about three minutes.
- Add the chopped gizzards to the vegetables and mix well.
- Pour in the water, mix and add salt to taste.
- Add the herbs, ground pepper, and dried garlic to the pan. Mix well again and leave covered for about 5-8 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite side dish and fresh herbs.
