Mix the cottage cheese, sugar, salt, semolina, and egg until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. The dough should be moderately firm, retain its shape, and be easy to mold. If the cottage cheese is runny, add more semolina.
Sprinkle the table with flour, roll out the dough, and divide it into equal parts. Form a ball from each part and flatten it slightly with your palm. Use flour to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands and the table.
Place the syrniki on a hot pan and fry them on low heat on both sides until golden brown.
Fry for about 6-7 minutes on each side.
