Peel the potatoes, wash them, and grate them using a coarse grater. Drain the liquid from the grated potatoes well and transfer them to a baking tray in an even layer. I used a 37 cm (15-inch) tray.
Sprinkle salt and ground black pepper to taste.
The second layer will be minced chicken, also sprinkled with salt and pepper.
Grate the hard cheese using a coarse grater. Transfer it to a bowl and add the sour cream and an egg.
Stir with a spoon.
Pour the mixture over the minced meat.
Cover the tray with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about an hour.
10-15 minutes before it is ready, remove the aluminum foil and return to the oven to brown the surface.
